How does our Pinner dentist keep our patients healthy? 5 preventive procedures we offer
When it comes to keeping you and your family healthy, it requires more than 5 a day and brisk exercise.
And while you may be a bit squeamish about getting into the dental chair, it is vital to attend regular dental check-ups to maintain your health and wellbeing. If you have had a bad experience in the past, don’t worry; our team at Apple Dental Studio will always aim to make you as comfortable as possible when you are in our care.
At Apple Dental Studio, we know how important regular dental appointments are to keeping you healthy and our Pinner dentist will always use the latest techniques available to make your visit with us pain-free and pleasant. Whether you are looking for cosmetic dental work, or just want to have a check-up, we can provide you with the top-quality care you deserve at an affordable price.
But what are some of the procedures that our Pinner dentist can offer to keep you and your family healthy?
While it is easy to assume that dental hygiene is simply the process of brushing your teeth twice a day, there is much more to it.
While not a general Pinner dentist, our hygienist can offer you a scale and polish to remove plaque that is hidden in your mouth, which will prevent gum disease and cavities from forming.
If you come in to see us with a cavity or a severely broken tooth, our team will always attempt to restore it as the first port of call.
However, if it is not possible to attempt restoration, our team will need to extract the tooth to prevent the decay from becoming an infection. This may be either a simple extraction or a surgical one, depending on the severity of the damage. As you can guess, a surgical extraction will involve incisions being made, but a simple extraction will aim to remove the tooth with no surgical techniques.
If you have a dental infection or the pulp of your tooth has been exposed because of an accident, then we will perform a root canal.
Drilling into the root of your tooth, we will remove the infected debris (if there is any) and will then pack the tooth with a filling material. Sealed with a filling or crown, this procedure restores the tooth to its optimal strength and prevents the recurrence of infection.
Emergency dental care
Of course, if you have a sudden toothache, oral swelling, a lost or loose filling, then you will need to have emergency dental treatment.
At our practice we are proud to be able to offer you and your family emergency dental care, to help you get on with your lives free of discomfort.
Oral cancer screening
As part of our standard check-ups at Apple Dental Studio, we offer oral cancer screening to all patients.
This involves assessing any lumps or blemishes that look suspicious and, if necessary, referring you to a specialist for further tests.
